I have installed LISTSERV and am trying to create my first list
so that I can try out various related LISTSERV commands. I have
not been successful and need some help.
I created a dummy userid id, LISTB. Using a postmaster's id, I
also created a file, LISTB LIST, with header information for the
list. I used LSVPUT, was prompted for a password, and replied
with LISTSERV's CREATEPW. The LASTING GLOBALV file was generated
and had information concerning this. I then used LSVPUT a second
time, was prompted for a password, and replied with the password
for the list. LASTING GLOBALV had information for this. I then
tried to SUBSCRIBE to LISTB and got the following messages:
* List LISTB is unknown to [log in to unmask] Your request
* is being forwarded to the nearest backbone server,
* [log in to unmask]
I looked at LISTSERV's 191 and saw nothing related to LISTB.
What am I doing wrong, or what else do I need to do? What will I
need to do to use this list?
Thanks for all your help. Please respond to me at [log in to unmask]
