This may not be of interest to everybody, but I guess I'm obsessing about it . . . > The filter for procmail will catch any message distributed > via the lists, since it catches all messages that come through > my mailbox. If the offending mail server sends sucha reply > directly to the individual sender there is nothing my filters > can do, of course. Well, it's not a major problem . . . especially since only one of maybe 25 or so OoO messages generated by the list last month actually got back _to_ the list. Most seem either to be sent only to the original sender or to me as listowner (or maybe both; I'm not clear about that). I'm interested here just in minimizing the number of them that get sent to individual posters: if you post to a list and get a dozen or so notices back saying that so and so isn't reading your mail it's an annoyance, and I have subscribers -- mostly folks who can't get used to deleting email unread -- who are pretty annoyed by it. And actually, it seems pretty clear the content-filter on 1.8e wouldn't actually deal with that, since the reply doesn't go to the list. -- Russ St. Thomas University http://www.StThomasU.ca/~hunt/
