The key to the problem is in the "Subject:" field of the message: Subject: Fwd: [SIBERNET] Need Advice.... Please! Update.... Your subscriber forwarded the message, why I don't know, but she forwarded it nonetheless. When mail is forwarded from AOL, the AOL mail client includes the forwarded message in the body of the message AND adds it as an attachment. I tell AOLers to NEVER, EVER forward to my list (of course I recommend that no one forward anything to the list, but I add special emphasis for the AOL types, bless their naive newbie hearts). >In AOL mailer 8, can you turn off this behavior? Even if you can, is >an AOL user capable of doing it? The only way they can turn it off is to avoid forwarding. Tell them to always send a new message or to use "Reply." Of course they cannot set their mail to send plain text in version 8 (I don't think they have been able to do it since vesion 5 - See: http://www.expita.com/nomime.html#aol8 ) Jan Jan A Bergeron, VMD [log in to unmask] Phone: 732-671-7856 Owner CAVM List Fax: 732-671-8432 http://CAVM.Net Cell: 732-513-7072 3 Quail Drive * Middletown, NJ 07748
