At least if s/he throws you out, you will notice and can talk to the listserv administrator. Perhaps you should be more worried that s/he might mess with your subscribers and their options, using QUIET commands, and you would not know what was happening! As a listserv administrator, I don't mind restoring a rightful owner (I've actually had to do it once), but I wouldn't be thrilled if I was asked to go through months of logs to try to determine what changes a particular co-owner has made....
