A form like this that does not send a confirmation email is an invitation for abuse. Most legitimate e-mail marketers rely on confirmed opt-in. Even allowing too many requests for confirmation to be sent can get you tagged as a spammer. One thought that has been running through the back of my head is "What the hell do they have to say that 1 million people want to hear?" Sounds rather spammish. Convince me I'm wrong.
