I'd also be interested in knowing if there is an "official" way of doing it but I did get an RSS feed from Twitter running onto a list via a script which just transformed it into an email. A recent experiment with .ics files from the Bedework calendaring server also showed that you could email the file to a list and users could use it and pop it into their own calendar via that route.
