We would like to thank all LISTSERV at Work readers and our thousands of customers around the world and hope to earn the opportunity to provide our world-class LISTSERV® brand solutions to readers who are not currently using them. We hope you will enjoy exploring our new interactive tools and special offers, all with a sharp focus on what L-Soft's products enable organizations and people to do: Communicate, Collaborate and Connect. ######################################################################## *** LISTSERV Choice Awards Grand Prize Winner: ICORS *** By L-Soft Staff An L-Soft jury led by Founder and CEO Eric Thomas has selected ICORS to receive the Grand Prize in the 2008-09 competition. The office is located in a white, elegant and completely renovated commercial building from the 1960s. As the first tenant in the new space, L-Soft has participated in shaping both the floor plan and the interior design from the start. Come and take a sightseeing tour of Stockholm from an L-Soft perspective. ######################################################################## *** Eric Thomas Creates Award for World Wide Words *** By L-Soft Staff L-Soft Founder and CEO Eric Thomas has chosen to honor World Wide Words with the 2008-09 Timeless Award, presented in commemoration of L-Soft's 15th Anniversary. This award was specially created for World Wide Words, which publishes a weekly e-magazine run on LISTSERV software featuring useful and interesting information on "international English from a British viewpoint" by Michael Quinion. It is distributed to some 30,000 English speakers worldwide via email in addition to 20,000 more who read the e-magazine through the separate RSS service. ######################################################################## *** Tech Tip: LISTSERV *** Q: How can I maximize security for my LISTSERV installation or for individual LISTSERV lists? Answer by Ben Parker Chief Corporate Consultant, L-Soft From time to time a question arises about how to increase security for a LISTSERV installation or for individual LISTSERV lists. The basic means for improving security is to deny access to any information that might be used by unscrupulous persons to attack your server or your list. ######################################################################## *** Tech Tip: LISTSERV Maestro *** Q: Is it possible to add a "timestamp" profile field to a dataset that is updated whenever any of the other profile fields are changed? Answer by Johannes Hubert and Holly Taylor LISTSERV Maestro Project Manager and Technical Writer, L-Soft For many data administrators, keeping track of their subscribers' data and its accuracy is a major concern. Simply having a way to keep track of the last date and time that a specific record was updated would be beneficiary. Because of this need, LISTSERV Maestro 4.0-5 and later has made it possible for you to create a "timestamp" that helps you keep your subscriber information up-to-date. This timestamp is created by adding a special derivation rule formula to a derived profile field. ######################################################################## *** About LISTSERV at Work *** LISTSERV at Work is L-Soft's customer newsletter.
