The Mailys 2012

World Wide Words, a weekly newsletter about the English language won the April contest in The Mailys 2012 with 60.94% of the vote. The newsletter discusses the vagaries of the English language, including word histories, new words, the background to words in the news, and some of the problems of English usage. World Wide Words also attempts to answer questions on English language and usage.

The May vote is currently underway to determine the second of the five finalists eligible for the Grand Prize. A total of 16 lists have been nominated so far. In any given month, the list that receives the highest number of votes and has not already qualified as a finalist will become that month's finalist.

Nominations for additional lists are still accepted. You only need to win one month to become a finalist, so if your favorite list hasn't been nominated yet, then nominate it today!
