I keep the archives until the list is terminated and then ask the Owner if they want a CD/DVD copy of them. If a CD/DVD copy is desired, I keep a copy of that in my desk, just in case. If no CD/DVD copy is requested, I delete the archives with the list, knowing that our backup processes will keep a copy offline for quite a while.

 

Only a few times have I been storage constrained that I needed to move some older portions of an archive to some offline storage. That did not last forever and I returned the older portions to online status.
