Thanks for your speedy reply!  I will give that option a try.  (I noticed it in the Listserv manual, but it’s not really clear to me what it means, so thanks for the explanation.)  My list is an internal emergency announcement list for my organization, so subscription is closed, yet there are some people who aren’t subscribed to the list who need to be able to quickly send and confirm postings.
