We run on Windows so we might have a different experience but when I run into this problem it's usually due to an issue with the folder. The other thing that comes up is that the list name is not exactly the same as the directory name. They need to match. I noticed while there that there is also and "upload" folder. In it is a file named THIS-LIST.lock. Might this be part of the problem? I've gone into the SPOOL folder and there are four messages in there. Leaving any of them in there will cause the FREE command to fail again. I can only free the list if I remove all the messages queued up in the spool. Is there anything I can do to understand this problem better?
