David, I am sorry I could not reply sooner to your mail. I wrote down the problem you described and have now implemented a solution for it, but since your mail was on my first screenfull of spool files (which I never look at :-) ) I forgot to tell you about it. Anyway, when release 1.5c is distributed you will be able to store lists from your MVS system by means of the PUT command, with the following syntax: //DUMMY JOB whatever /*XMIT CANADA01.LISTSERV DLM='XXX' PUT vector-l LIST PW=listpassword * * IBM 3090 vector processors * (etc) XXX No // JOB nor // EOJ card should appear in the dataset as it is transmitted to LISTSERV. Note that the list file must have been obtained by a GET listname command, not REVIEW listname, otherwise the store operation will be rejected. This process will purposefully not work with mail. The reason is that the list file as sent by a GET command may contain 'flags' in columns 81-100 (eg distribution options for the various users) which the mailer would truncate. It is therefore not desirable to allow lists to be stored from mail-only nodes -- I would get 'bug reports' from users that there distribution options are trashed because the owner destroys them everytime he stores the list (This was to answer a question from someone else). Regards, Eric
