Chris, Service areas are defined on a list-by-list basis. Apparently the PROLOG list has a tighter service area than PSCRIPT. Why this is done is up to the owner of the list. In some cases, the traffic on the list is private to some group (e.g. Rutgers University, or New Jersey, or perhaps BITNET but not EARN). In others, the owner may want to avoid being flamed at for overloading the transatlantic link, and so limits access to his/her side of the pond. Just for reference, the definition of Service= is: Service= area1,area2,... An area can be either: - The name of a network, eg EARN, BITNET - The name of a country, eg Germany, Canada - 'Local', in which case it is equated to the value of the "Local=" keyword. - A node name, eg FRECP11 - A simple wildcard nodename pattern such as FR*, *11, *ESA*, D*ESA*, etc Ross Patterson Rutgers University
