A local userid did a SIGNOFF * (NETWIDE and received some odd mail back from the various listservs. LISTSERV@OREGON1 said list SPSSX-L was locked by LISTSERV@MARIST LISTSERV@UGA said list SPSSX-L was locked by LISTSERV@OHSTVMA LISTSERV@OHSTVMA said list SPSSX-L was locked by LISTSERV@MARIST LISTSERV@MARIST said list SPSSX-L was locked by HARRY@MARIST There might have been more, I stopped PEEKing after 30 or so files. Are all the messages because SPSSX-L is peered and nobody knows which server actually has the user's subscription? Then how did somebody know the user was subscribed at all? When the list is unlocked, will the user be removed automatically by LISTSERV or does the list owner have to do a manual delete? The global signoff is a great idea, but it needs some fine tuning.
