That's an open question. Since Frank asked it, I suggest he could volunteer to
do the  work and coordinate  the test and installation.  While he's at  it, he
could also implement  the automated service-area design that he  liked so much
(and convince  the various  LISTSERV owners  that they  should create  a dummy
account for  EVERY listname in  the network, so that  you could send  mail and
files to any  listname at any LISTSERV  node without having to  know where the
list is  held physically). This  could be the start  of something big,  like a
"Revised Revised  LISTSERV", which could  be written in a  high-level language
and run in all  the known operating systems. It could  also implement an X.500
directory (in addition of native X.400 support, of course). It is time for the
elders to retire and leave way to the new generation...
