You cannot turn this off. LISTSERV is sitting, by design, on the .BITNET domain, rather than your local domain. Without the .BITNET, DISTRIBUTE jobs processed at your site end up being sent to, say, [log in to unmask] rather than the intended destination, with the results that you can imagine. The problem is that your MAILER is feeding LISTSERV unqualified addresses; this is bound to cause problems and should be fixed.
