As the maintainer of LISTSERV here, recently I've noticed a lot of mail
is being sent to LISTSERV with a command in the Subject header field,
instead of in the body of the mail (as is required). I'm mentioning
this for two reasons. First, if you're a list owner or a BITNET
representative at your site, this may be a good time to remind your
users that commands must be in body of the mail instead of the
Subject field. Second, I'd like to suggest that perhaps a future
version of LISTSERV could recognize mail that contains a valid
command in the Subject field and has no body, and in that case
process the command. I may be missing something, but I can't see
how that change would cause any problems, and it would clearly be
helpful to many users.
