I believe the note says something like:
 
> get blah blah
File BLAH BLAH has been sent to you in Mail format.
 
While this may be confusing to a novice user, I don't see it as a wording
problem. The message is designed for  BITNET users, who expect to get the
thing they requested as a file and know it will not arrive instantly; the
note is  just to confirm that  the request was accepted  and successfully
processed, and  that the file is  on its way.  The users just have  to be
educated  and  told   that  the  short  confirmation  note   is  just  an
acknowledgement and is not supposed to include the requested file itself.
