I don't do it very often because mail is more reliable. A command sent via mail gets there sooner or later. A command sent interactively vanishes if nodes are down. As I said, I normally use internet mail because it goes faster than even interactive bitnet messages. When I first became owner of a list in another state, I tested the speed many, many times. I would send an interactive bitnet command to the listserv first and then the same command via internet mail. I would receive mail confirmation that the internet command had been received and acted on before the interactive bitnet command got there. > which receives the same treatment as an Internet address. I have no official connection with the Computing Center. I have, however, told my friends in the CC that I see no particular usefulness of bitnet -- at least not now that we can edit list headers via mail.
