Interesting discussion.... Thing is, LISTSERV lists run on machines that are on BITNET and usually have Internet links. If someone posts a blatantly commercial message from the Internet to a BITNET list, by definition he is violating CREN's usage guidelines when the message is distributed to everyone subscribed via BITNET.
