It really doesn't matter how many pieces it's broken into, it will still kill your LISTSERV. I believe this is the prime reason the "netwide delete" feature has been removed from future version of LISTSERV. The amount of processing required is too large for the benefits realized. So, rather than asking them to break the file into smaller pieces, ask them not to send them at all. :) The preferred solution is to modify their mail delivery software to use a file format LISTSERV will recognize and "automatically" remove expired accounts from mailing lists after one bounce. Currently, LMAIL, MX and PMDF support this feature. People interested in extending other packages should find the file returned by the following LISTSERV job useful. Just cut/paste the job into a mail message and send it to [log in to unmask] I hate to post sample LDBASE jobs with Peter lurking on the list to correct me(!), but this example does appear to work. :) -jj ----- cut here ----- // JOB Echo=No Database Search DD=Rules //Rules DD * select * in lstsrv-l from 26 oct to 26 oct where sender contains eric print 8218 /*
