I realize that things like this have been discussed before, when I wasn't paying attention since I had no personal interest in them, and I realize that I might be able to find answers by searching the list archives. But since things are pretty quiet on the nets right now, I decided to go on and brashly ask on the list. I'm asking this for a postmaster in Massachusetts whose system is about to change the "From" field. His question: "How do we handle changing our users' subscriptions to LISTSERVs? Once we change our from field, they will not be able to UNSUB from their lists. Do you have any advice? Is there a way to tell ALL LISTS change all xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx addresses to whatever it is that we have decided we need to call ourselves?" My reply to him was that there is probably not a way. I told him about individual "global" commands but that I didn't know of a global way to change an address for all people using it on all lists. My question to you is what is the best advice to give him. How he handles this may affect YOUR list... Thanks. --Natalie ([log in to unmask])
