For example, I could currently set up yet another AFRICA-L list at my site, adding to the confusion of which list is which. It's not a matter of misconfiguration or "real" lists, just a matter of duplication of existing names. If LISTSERV were to scan the names of existing lists when a new list is introduced and reject the new list if the name is already being used, the confusion could be reduced in the future. Of course, this wouldn't work if the same list name were introduced simultaneously at different sites, but most of the time it would be sufficient. Just my thoughts on the matter. . . Keith
