I tried to send this earlier and misadressed it to lstonw-l rather than lstown-l. Makes one humble and more forgiving of subscribers' errors. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- My thanks to those who wrote with various suggestions (I hope this will suffice for all of you). I had already tried bouncing the mail with Elm (I usually use Pine but have installed Elm configured as I want it and can use it for special purposes). I bounced a couple of messages sent to me as Editor (I don't get many as only items from those not directly subscribed are sent to me, and supposedly the primary listowner gets the stuff caught by Filter=). Problem is, *I* don't seem to get a copy of the items when they are distributed. I had thought the things were disappearing into unknown cyberspace, but today the primary listowner asked me why two copies of a particular item appeared. She sent me the things and, from looking at the headers, could easily see the first one was the bounced one and the second one was the one I forwarded after not getting a distributed copy for over an hour. I've not gotten a distributed copy for *anything* I've bounced. I'm subscribed to the list and set repro, so how come I don't get distributed copies of the things I bounce? Makes me nervous not knowing if the stuff got through. We do have a special account for errors, and I can change Editor= to that account and forward from there. I'ld rather not do that though as going from UNIX to VM/CMS via tn3270 ain't my idea of fun. I'm anxiously awaiting the next message needing approval so I can try it again. Got one today, but it was personal, missent to the list, so I just forwarded it to the intended receipient. All tips appreciated.
