I have a subscriber whose mail often bounces back to me as the list-owner. Her postmaster tells her that the problem is that Listserv has recorded her address with the domain in all caps, whereas their domain expects to be identified in mixed case and will otherwise occasionally reject mail. I believe I should ask the subscriber to tell the postmaster that Internet mail needs to be addressable with case-insensitive domains, and that they should refer to RFC822 paragraph 3.4.7 "Case Independence" (and thanks to many of you for locating this for me) to verify this accepted rule. Is this logic I'm presenting correct? -- Roger Burns [log in to unmask]
