That's always an argument when you get into territory where the computer tries to be "smart" -- SmartList does a lot of fuzzy things I don't necessarily agree with (for instance, it tries to parse commands sent to incorrect addresses, which I think is a disaster waiting to happen -- but I digress). BUT, whether or not it "enourages" such practices, they're there, and I think the bottom line is whether the feature saves the list owner some work, or not. As Auto-Delete is currently implemented, many people have chosen not to use it. SmartList's approach, while it could be improved too (of course!) seems to answer some people's concerns. I like LISTSERV, I'm not trying to start an rwar about list managers. SmartList just happened to have a currently-running example of the auto-delete feature as I'd like to see it implemented. Norm
