Having problems getting mail to owner-listname and listname-request IDs. Lmail (1.2) local sysvars has listname = 'lstserv3' This is a VM system. Not sure how the mail would get to lmail or listserv - my impression is that listserv polls the rdr of the dummy ID corresponding to listname and gets inbound. Lmail only seems to be involved on the outbound side of listserv. Rejection seems to before it gets to listserv or lmail (see samples below). What am I missing andhow can I get the system to recognize these names? I have scannedthe archives and release notes - didn't see the answer there. encl: release command to lstserv3 mail to PERTEST-Request TIA /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Return-Path: <[log in to unmask]> Received: from PENTAGON-HQDADSS.ARMY.MIL by ix5.ix.netcom.com (8.6.12/SMI-4.1/Netcom) id TAA18839; Mon, 14 Aug 1995 19:35:59 -0700 Message-Id: <[log in to unmask]> Received: from FOR3083.BITNET by PENTAGON-HQDADSS.ARMY.MIL (IBM VM SMTP V2R2) with BSMTP id 2997; Mon, 14 Aug 95 22:34:59 EDT Received: from PENTAGON-HQDADSS.ARMY.MIL (NJE origin LSTSERV3@FOR3083) by FOR3083.BITNET (LMail V1.2a/1.8a) with BSMTP id 0630; Mon, 14 Aug 1995 22:34:59 -0400 Date: Mon, 14 Aug 1995 22:34:59 -0400 From: "L-Soft list server at FOR3083 (1.8b)" <[log in to unmask]> Subject: Output of your job "ogilvy" To: [log in to unmask] > Release LISTSERV-NJE for VM version 1.8b, managed by: "Nakamua, Yasmin CAC" <[log in to unmask]> Tom Ogilvy <[log in to unmask]> Master nodes file version: 95/07/24 15:03:32 (VERS9303) NJE peers file version: 95/07/25 08:04:06 Internet peers file version: *** File not found *** Domain file version: 95/07/25 08:06:57 (.FOR3083) Running under: CMS release 10 (SLU 307 - ESA mode) //////////////////////// mail to listname-request@node ////////// Return-Path: <Mailer-Daemon> Received: from localhost by ix7.ix.netcom.com (8.6.12/SMI-4.1/Netcom) id TAA13639; Mon, 14 Aug 1995 19:16:07 -0700 Date: Mon, 14 Aug 1995 19:16:07 -0700 From: Mailer-Daemon (Mail Delivery Subsystem) Subject: Returned mail: User unknown Message-Id: <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Status: RO The original message was received at Mon, 14 Aug 1995 19:16:02 -0700 from ix-dc9-20.ix.netcom.com [199.183.208.116] ----- The following addresses had delivery problems ----- <[log in to unmask]> (unrecoverable error) ----- Transcript of session follows ----- .. while talking to pentagon-hqdadss.army.mil.: >>> RCPT To:<[log in to unmask]> <<< 550 User 'pertest-request' Unknown 550 <[log in to unmask]>...
