I haven't been on America Online in three/four years, when I was on the Beta-test team for its Geoworks software, which included Internet e-mail testing as well (don't remember exactly when - it's been a while, anyhow). But they are a capable system trying to do the impossible. And doing a good job of it all. Their error messages are concise and easy to understand. They are working around the limitations. Problems aren't limited to America Online. Some mailers are broken and need fixing, or have problems with large mailings. PC networks are notorious for giving errors or messages about silly stuff.
