I posted this the other day and received no response. Someone, PLEASE help. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Wed, 13 Mar 1996 09:54:26 -0500 (EST) From: Rebecca S. Guenther <[log in to unmask]> To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Filelist questions At the Library of Congress we are converting our lists from Listprocessor software to Listserv. We're using a UNIX RISC-AIX system. One of the lists maintains extensive file archives. I attempted to follow the instructions for adding files to the archives and tried to update the filelist with the filenames I was going to add. Below is the error message I received. The manual is a bit confusing about how to set up archives for non-VM systems. Can anyone tell me what is needed? ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Wed, 13 Mar 1996 09:37:44 -0500 From: L-Soft list server at Library of Congress (1.8b) <[log in to unmask]> To: Rebecca Guenther <[log in to unmask]> Subject: Command: PUT MARCTEST.FILELIST It is not possible to update file "MARCTEST.FILELIST", because it is maintained internally by LISTSERV. NOTE: The Listserv postmaster followed instructions in the basic Listowner's manual for Listserv and then in the one called "LSVowner Fil-List" available from [log in to unmask] In the latter document, it says to create 2 files, listname FILEID and listname FILELIST. Then you are supposed to send the following instruction to Listserv: TELL LISTSERV GET LISTSERV FILELIST (CTL. An error message came back saying that TELL is not a listserv command. I have been unable still to add a file to the filelist. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^ Rebecca S.
