I've heard stories of listowners being harassed in various ways, some scarier than others, by people who didn't like the way they'd been treated. I'd prefer not to wave red flags before Internet bull(ie)s if I can help it. Still, I don't want to exaggerate the importance to me of the filter= issue. I simply made an observation about not seeing why this information had to be public. But while I'd prefer the mechanism to be less visible, I'm certainly willing to abide by Eric's judgment that changing it would require too much work.
