Dear Listowners: The problem with Bucknell continues (I've called campus security there and tried to convince them that sending out 25 error messages an hour continuously, conceivably for days, could do serious damage to people with small mailboxes who might not check the mail until next Tuesday). In the meantime I've discovered the following interesting batch-job which is part of the look of error messages sent out to everyone (well, maybe it's just me, but I doubt it . . .): #1 1-SEP-1996 00:37:44.19 NEWMAIL From:SMTP%"[log in to unmask]" To: FACSHAFERI CC: Subj: Date: Sun, 1 Sep 1996 01:25:02 -0400 Message-Id: <[log in to unmask]> Errors-To: [log in to unmask] Reply-To: [log in to unmask] Originator: [log in to unmask] Sender: [log in to unmask] Precedence: bulk From: To: Multiple recipients of list <[log in to unmask]> Subject: X-Listprocessor-Version: 6.0c -- ListProcessor by Anastasios Kotsikonas X-Comment: Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel Discussion Group Batch SMTP transaction log follows: 220 SRUVM.SRU.EDU Columbia MAILER R2.10 ptf008 BSMTP service ready. 050 HELO SRU 250 SRUVM.SRU.EDU Hello SRU 050 MAIL FROM:<[log in to unmask]> 250-<[log in to unmask]> does not correspond to RSCS origin of SRU SMTP. 250 You are a charlatan. 050 RCPT TO:<maf4937@SRU> 250 <maf4937@SRU>... recipient OK. 050 DATA 354 Start mail input.
