Hi all -- A question, in the midst of the very long gestational period preceding moving a majordomo list to a listserv site -- Is it possible for a listserv list to be set up in such a way that the author of a post can indicate in the post that it is not to be retained in the list archives? Our majordomo list, of course, has no archiving at all. There are mixed feelings among the membership about enabling the usual listserv archiving of posts. The presence of most posts in a keyword-searchable archive would be a real boon to the membership, and requiring list membership as a prerequisite for access to the archives will satisfy most people's concerns about security. However, this is a list with a special dual purpose -- it is a support list for parents of kids with Asperger Syndrome (a mild form of autism), and also a support list for young adults and adults with AS. As some of the parents' kids grow older, they may become interested in joining the list, and there are a few parents who are concerned that something they post now may come back to haunt them in future years when their kids gain access to the list. So they would like the option of sending posts that will not be archived. Is that something that can be set up with listserv? Or can anyone suggest reasonable alternatives? Many thanks in advance.
