Hi kids. Post came to me for review (from rec.music.dylan, the usenet side of the gateway), I okayed it -- it looked normal-ish. Here's what I okayed: >To: [log in to unmask] >Sender: <[log in to unmask]> >Path: auvm!paladin.american.edu!02-newsfeed.univie.ac.at!news.ecrc.de! > news.nacamar.de!www.nntp.primenet.com!nntp.primenet.com!howland.erols.net!feed > 1.news.erols.com!news.dra.com!news.starnet.net!news.cc.ukans.edu!usenet >From: "Matthew T. Haven't seen how it comes through in a digest yet. I imagine that will drop all but the first "name" and "address"? How'd he do it? What's he up to? His Reply-To: line in the message submitted to me for review is the key, but how/why did they all assume the @listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu address? Anybody??? I've put a filter on this guy until I understand what he's trying to do. Does anyone know of a reason for doing this in ummm... choosing my words carefully ... the real world of responsible people acting in good faith? Thanks everbody -- as always. :-) Maureen (HWY61-L) circumnavigatin' the globe with LISTSERV ;-) The message that came through after I'd approved his post: >From: MX%"[log in to unmask]",MX%"[log in to unmask]",MX >%"[log in to unmask]",MX%"[log in to unmask]",MX%"KS@ >LISTSERV.ACSU.BUFFALO.EDU",MX%"[log in to unmask]" >To: MX%"[log in to unmask]" >CC: >Subj: Re: Look a likes... > >Return-Path: <[log in to unmask]> >Received: from listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu by taurus.cc.umb.edu (MX V4.2 VAX) > with SMTP; Sun, 08 Dec 1996 14:05:11 EST >Received: (qmail 29068 invoked from network); 8 Dec 1996 19:01:29 -0000 >Received: from listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu (128.205.7.35) by > listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu with SMTP; 8 Dec 1996 19:01:29 -0000 >Received: from LISTSERV.ACSU.BUFFALO.EDU by LISTSERV.ACSU.BUFFALO.EDU > (LISTSERV-TCP/IP release 1.8c) with spool id 6035697 for > [log in to unmask]; Sun, 8 Dec 1996 14:01:19 -0500 >Received: (qmail 28768 invoked from network); 8 Dec 1996 19:01:08 -0000 >Received: from listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu (128.205.7.35) by > listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu with SMTP; 8 Dec 1996 19:01:08 -0000 >Approved-By: [log in to unmask] >Received: (qmail 26909 invoked from network); 8 Dec 1996 03:12:57 -0000 >Received: from AUVM.AMERICAN.EDU ([log in to unmask]) by listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu > with SMTP; 8 Dec 1996 03:12:56 -0000 >Received: from AUVM.AMERICAN.EDU by AUVM.AMERICAN.EDU (IBM VM SMTP V2R2) with > BSMTP id 4724; Sat, 07 Dec 96 22:11:14 EST >Received: from AUVM.AMERICAN.EDU (NJE origin NETNEWS@AUVM) by AUVM.AMERICAN.EDU > (LMail V1.2a/1.8a) with BSMTP id 2821; Sat, 7 Dec 1996 22:11:15 -0500 >Path: auvm!paladin.american.edu!02-newsfeed.univie.ac.at!news.ecrc.de! > news.nacamar.de!www.nntp.primenet.com!nntp.primenet.com!howland.erols.net!fe >ed 1.news.erols.com!news.dra.com!news.starnet.net!news.cc.ukans.edu!usenet >Lines: 23 >References: <[log in to unmask]> >NNTP-Posting-Host: two.shiva.uksm-w.kumc.edu >MIME-Version: 1.0 >Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii >Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit >X-Mailer: Mozilla 3.0Gold (Win95; I) >Message-ID: <[log in to unmask]> >Date: Sat, 7 Dec 1996 17:36:58 -0600 >Reply-To: [log in to unmask], [log in to unmask], > [log in to unmask], > [log in to unmask], [log in to unmask], > [log in to unmask] >Sender: The Bob Dylan Discussion List <[log in to unmask]> >From: "Matthew T.
