Some weeks ago, one of my user presented me with this problem: Each and every post he makes through the newsgroup appears correctly on the list but is also bounced to him as "already processed" ... I've asked advice here but I was missing complete headers. Now I got them. I've looked at the mail headers but was not able to find the cause. Maybe some of you can find something. One question: Is the email address of usenet mail standard [log in to unmask] ? or it is a mail alias they put in locally ? In the OK post there is a >Comments: To: [log in to unmask] Like if it was the original To: picked up In the reject there is also: > To: [log in to unmask] > Path: usenet > Newsgroups: bit.listserv.blues-l > NNTP-Posting-Host: ereweb.ere.fp.exxon.com Can I induce from that that the first message got right to Brown as "usenet" mail but the the 2nd, thus rejected, post was processed like a News article, a little like "Re:Both" (for mail & news) in some mailers like Netscape Gold ? Or can it be related to the "peered" uunet relay ? Thanks and Happy New Year to all ... -- Eric Paul-Hus, BLUES-L -------- The appearing post -------- Received: from listserv.brown.edu by indyweb.cgocable.ca via ESMTP (951211.SGI.8.6.12.PATCH1042/940406.SGI.AUTO) for <[log in to unmask]> id NAA02055; Fri, 27 Dec 1996 13:51:11 -0500 Received: from stanley.cis.Brown.EDU (stanley.cis.brown.edu [128.148.128.155]) by listserv.brown.edu (8.6.10/8.6.10) with SMTP id NAA28014; Fri, 27 Dec 1996 13:45:34 -0500 Received: from BROWNVM.BROWN.EDU by BROWNVM.BROWN.EDU (LISTSERV release 1.8b) with NJE id 5343 for [log in to unmask]; Fri, 27 Dec 1996 13:42:48 -0500 Received: from BROWNVM (NJE origin SMTP@BROWNVM) by BROWNVM.BROWN.EDU (LMail V1.2a/1.8a) with BSMTP id 8520; Fri, 27 Dec 1996 13:42:48 -0500 Received: from relay7.UU.NET by BROWNVM.brown.edu (IBM VM SMTP V2R2) with TCP; Fri, 27 Dec 96 13:42:47 EST Received: from ereapp.erenj.com by relay7.UU.NET with ESMTP (peer crosschecked as: ereapp.ERENJ.COM [159.70.31.2]) id QQbvxy06509; Fri, 27 Dec 1996 13:44:01 -0500 (EST) Received: (from smap@localhost) by ereapp.erenj.com (8.8.3/8.8.3) id NAA28209 for <[log in to unmask]>; Fri, 27 Dec 1996 13:43:59 -0500 Received: from unknown(159.70.37.160) by ereapp.erenj.com via smap (V1.3) id sma028193; Fri Dec 27 13:43:39 1996 Received: from fpenews.ere.exxon.com ([159.70.32.152]) by ereweb.ere.exxon.com (post.office MTA v1.9.3 ID# 0-10256) with SMTP id AAA73 for <[log in to unmask]>; Fri, 27 Dec 1996 13:43:32 -0500 X-Mailer: Mozilla 2.02Gold (WinNT; I) MIME-Version: 1.0 References: <[log in to unmask]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Lines: 11 Message-ID: <[log in to unmask]> Date: Fri, 27 Dec 1996 13:41:11 -0500 Reply-To: "Miele,Dennis" <[log in to unmask]> Sender: Blues Music List <[log in to unmask]> X-UIDL: 851713391.000 From: "Miele,Dennis" <[log in to unmask]> Organization: Exxon Research & Engineering Subject: Re: New Years Eve gigs Comments: To: [log in to unmask] To: Multiple recipients of list BLUES-L <[log in to unmask]> Status: U X-Mozilla-Status: 0015 Mike Curtis wrote: > > New years eve is typically incredibly busy - the busiest night of the > year.
