Hey, Doug, if this is true:

>In the keyword memo for 1.8c, May, 24,'95 (...)

then I suggest you get a newer keyword memo :) May 24 1995 was the original
release of <1.8b> and I imagine this is simply a mistake in the original
manuals. Latest LISTKEYW MEMO can be downloaded from FTP.LSOFT.COM in
the DOCUMENTS directory.  Or

 ftp://ftp.lsoft.com/DOCUMENTS/listkeyw.memo

for the browser crowd :) It currently says

*********************
* Sizelim= <number> *
*********************

If set, causes LISTSERV to reject all messages to the list which exceed
the number of lines (including all Internet header lines) indicated.
This can be helpful in discouraging subscribers from posting long screeds
or uuencoded files to your lists. It can also be set higher than the
LISTSERV default if desired; check with your LISTSERV maintainer before
changing this upward. (Generally "Sizelim= 250" is large enough for long
posts but short enough to discourage postings of uuencoded binaries, but
of course, your mileage may vary.)
