The error message that appears below is one of dozens that the Listserv here has received for the past three or so months. These errors come from a domain called sslnet.com, but I searched across all the 1,200+ lists on my server and I couldn't find anything resembling this address in any of the lists, nor can I find any subscriptions with the userid that's identified as being undeliverable. The error message never includes a copy of the actual posting that elicited the message or any other information beyond that of what I included in this copy. Attempts at contacting the domain administrator for sslnet.com via e-mail resulted in totaly useless responses. An attempt at calling this domain's administrator on the phone yesterday went unanswered. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can deal with this problem as its getting very frustrating! ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Sun, 8 Aug 1999 14:33:45 -0400 From: "L-Soft list server at Temple University (1.8d)" <[log in to unmask]> Subject: Delivery error report from FRONTPAGE.SSLNET.COM The enclosed message, found in the LISTSERV mailbox and shown under the spool ID 1067053 in the system log, has been identified as a possible delivery error notice for the following reason: mail origin seems to be a mailer. ------------------------ Message in error (25 lines) -------------------------- Return-Path: <> Delivered-To: [log in to unmask] Received: (qmail 21457 invoked from network); 8 Aug 1999 18:32:44 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO frontpage.sslnet.com) (216.121.0.35) by listserv.temple.edu with SMTP; 8 Aug 1999 18:32:44 -0000 Received: from localhost (localhost) by frontpage.sslnet.com (8.9.1/8.9.1) with internal id LAB22629; Sun, 8 Aug 1999 11:32:02 -0700 Date: Sun, 8 Aug 1999 11:32:02 -0700 From: Mail Delivery Subsystem <[log in to unmask]> Message-Id: <[log in to unmask]> To: [log in to unmask] MIME-Version: 1.0 Subject: Returned mail: User unknown Auto-Submitted: auto-generated (failure) The original message was received at Sun, 8 Aug 1999 11:32:02 -0700 from bin@localhost ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- asdf ----- Transcript of session follows ----- 550 asdf...
