This is precisely the form of login required by the LISTSERV www interface (fully introduced in the recently released Ver 1.8d). However, LIST passwords were declared obsolete with the introduction of LISTSERV Ver 1.8c about 2 1/2 years ago. They are still accepted, for backwards compatibility reasons (for now), but they were replaced by Personal Passwords (i.e. a separate individual password that each user registers by themself directly with LISTSERV). For obvious security advantages, Personal Passwords are preferred over the obsolete List Password, which should no longer be used.
