Thanks to Randy and Cleo for posting the URLs for references to configuring email programs to send plain text. I was wondering if any of you had similar instructions for two other email programs. One is Novell GroupWise, specifically version 5.2, but this may occur with other versions, as well. Our subscribers using this program seem to always generate messages as quoted-printable. None of them seem to be able to find the option to change this. Since none of our listowners use this program or have access to it, we can't be of any help in trying to figure out how to change the settings. The other problem is with the freemail services Net@ddress (USA.NET) and Netscape WebMail (NETSCAPE.NET), not to be confused with the Netscape browser/email program. NETSCAPE.NET is operated by USA.NET, and their configuration options are the same. USA.NET also operates similar services for other companies, and I suspect the same problem exists there, too. They generate all messages as quoted-printable, even though "Send as HTML" is not checked. There seems to be no option to turn off quoted-printable. I have accounts with both of these services, and I haven't been able to figure out what to do. Since we require only plain text messages, we finally banned subscriptions from both domains from all of our lists. Any help would be appreciated. ===== Best wishes, Clark Pickett <[log in to unmask]> Co-Administrator, EEAC Web Site and mailing lists http://www.eeadopt.org __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
