This discussion crops up over and over again because our society seems
to demand form over substance. Does anybody in their right mind insist
that enhanced _speech_ is desirable? Somehow my _spoken_ thoughts are
less meaningful because I'm too much of an old fart to walk around with
a bull-horn, fuzz-box and reverb chamber? Yes, some discussions, written
or spoken, are enhanced by illustrations; but in my observation they tend
to be the exceptions that should be used sparingly, with due respect given
to the sight-impaired. End of (what? Semi-annual?) rant.
