This is one is very simple i.e., I think that you thought this one was
complicated. Basically the receiver's MUA sent the OOO to the correct
address -- the RFC821 MAIL FROM field (and for standard LISTSERV
processing, "maps" to the list's ERRORS-TO= field, that tends to be the
list-owner) which IS the standard "bounce" address.
Of course whether it should have replied at all is another issue.
