You can still acheive something similar.
If you have web access enabled you can have a link to the Subscriber page
for the list in question. It would look something like this:
http://.../WA.EXE?SUBED1=listname&A=1
Insert the URL, WA parameter (WA? or WA.EXE?), and listname into the
appropriate places and it should take your subscriber directly to a page
where they can unsubscribe from the list.
It's not a 'one-click' solution like Francoise suggested but it's still
useful. The same page can be used for subscribing as well so it's
dual-purpose.
If you insert both this URL and the listname-SIGNOFF-REQUEST e-mail
address you'll have the best of both worlds.
