Hello,
Have you encountered the problem I am about to describe? If so, or if
you have any ideas, please let me know.
We are using Listserv v14.4 and Exchange 2003.
We have two list that we use for send messages to Faculty and Staff
which are named, strangely enough, Faculty and Staff. Both lists are
set up so that they are moderated and only the editors can send to the
lists. Anyone subscribed to the list is an editor.
I encountered a situation where a user who is subscribed to both lists.
This users send a message with both Faculty and Staff in the To Line on
their email message. The message was sent "on Behalf of" someone (the
originator) else.
When the message was sent, the user (who is subscribe to both lists) did
not receive the message. The user is set up to receive a copy of their
email messages. Checking the Listserv logs, everyone subscribed to the
list was accounted for expect the user that sent a message "on behalf
of" the originator (who is also subscribed to both lists). Can anyone
tell me what or why this is happening.
Another thing I have noticed is that when a message is sent to two
listserv lists by putting them both in the To: Field, for example,
Faculty, Staff, that the Staff list is processed and sent out first then
the Faculty list is processed and sent out. Listserv sends out messages
to all subscribers on both lists but Exchange 2003 will only deliver one
message is someone is subscribe to both lists. In our case, people
subscribe to both lists will get the message from the [Staff] list but
not from the [Faculty] list. I believe I have determined that MS
Exchange 2003 operates this way so that identical messages are not
delivered to the same email accounts. Does anyone know how to get both
messages to deliver dispite going through Exchange 2003?
Any comments, suggestions, and/or pointing out obvious things I have
missed are welcome.
Brett Watts
