If I recall correctly, it must be six characters long at least, and
alpha-numeric only, ie only letters and digits.
Others may chime in with suggestions, having better knowledge than I, but
perhaps you could ask this person to register a word you've chosen (eg,
"coffee"), and do it via email command with a copy going to you. Then you'd be
able to see exactly what she was doing, and pick up any mistakes. Once that is
successful, she can go ahead and change it to something else, to keep it
private.
The command for setting a password is:
PW ADD NEWPASSWORD
where NEWPASSWORD is the password of choice.
The command for resetting the password is:
PW RESET
after which a new password can be set with the first command, or via the web
interface.
Note that these commands don't include the name of the list. Passwords are
specific to the server, not the list. Both commands will probably invoke a
reply asking the sender to confirm before they are carried out; instructions are
in the email that is sent.
