Without knowing at all what the specifics of your bounce are,
"e-mail is not symmetrical", especially when it involves LISTSERV
broadcast distributions in one direction ("riding" the LISTSERV
NJE backbone i.e., bulk mailings to other LISTSERV sites which
"explode" and recursively distribute) and a bounce from a
particular subscriber back to the list-owner in the other direction.
 
It only took me several years to understand mailers, listserv
backbone/Distribute/DNS-MX/smattering of CMS/VMS clusters/routers/
forwarding agents.
