Has anyone considered the possibility of an entrepreneurally minded
individual building net-based mailing lists for profit?
 
Today people collect and sell targeted snail-mail address lists.  With
discussions of commercialization of the net, could these folks be
subscribing just to get the list of subscribers, then unsubbing?
 
Since it is on a list-by-list basis, the "offender" could quickly
build a data base of very narrowly targeted internet address.
 
Make any sense?
