Well, in my experience the files that change most frequently are the
welcome message and/or "you have been added" notice, and, if applicable,
the questionnaire sent to new users. As the list grows, new issues will
come up and will need to be addressed. Even with multiple owners you
would presumably want to discuss all these things with the other owners
or even the list before making a change. As a list owner I would always
want a local copy of the list charter/policy and so forth so that when
users complain about something I can quote it to them. I don't know, I
just find it hard to believe that there are all that many owners who do
NOT want to keep a local copy of policy/info files about their list. For
instance, it wouldn't occur to me to use GIVE when I can just imbed the
file in my reply.
Like just about everything it CAN be implemented as you say, but this
sounds like a feature that would be used only by a handful of people.
