About the only thing I can think of is to have some
e-mail/archiver program subscribed to the various lists
that have it make intelligent decisions based upon
the various RFC822 headers as to where/how to archive.
Alternatively, but probably with its only unique set
of problems, do define LISTSERV (sub-)lists each with
its own TOPIC areas viz. its name
org-x * Topic= dept-a,dept-b,notebook=no
dept-a * Topic= dept-a,notebook=YES
usera-1 topic: dept-a
usera-2 topic: dept-a
dept-b * Topic= dept-b,notebook=YES
userb-1 topic: dept-b
userb-2 topic: dept-b
E-mail to all dept-b users would be via the
top list:
to: org-x
subject: dept-b: vacation policies
Thus, e-mail to org-x would NOT be archives in org-x filelist
but would in dept-b filelist.
mail to: org-x
subject: ALL:
would be sent to all dept's and archived in all dept's filelists.
