This looks like the SEND command (synonym of GIVE):

SEND filelist user@host

(LISTSERV ignores words like "please")

You can make it go through any way by putting 2 dashes on a line
by itself somewhere before the  "ambiguous" sentence. E.g, see the
beginning of my answer.
