You don't deal with the same kinds of people I do.  ;)

I had to take Confirmation off one list, directed at writers, because
they just didn't understand. I've left it off, knowing that if there was
ever a problem, I could add it back on. I haven't had any problems yet.

I agree that Confirm is great in many cases, but it's not 100%. And this
is one of the few cases where I don't blame it on the text a potential
subscriber receives, as it's pretty simple and does the job.
