The problem is not just a bug, the problem is that CompuServe's entire
mail system is like my old apartment in DC (roach-ridden).  Somehow this
does not surprise me at all.  The base problem is that CompuServe's
mailer is using the RFC822 "From:" line instead of the RFC821 MAIL FROM:
line to bounce the message back.  Arghh.  And people complain about AOL ...
